Nevirapine Backwards Brain excitotoxicity in cerebral ischemic stroke, to screen the activity using molecular docking studies and Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion model in Wistar Rats

Abstract
Ischemia plays a vital role in the pathogenesis of cerebral stroke. This study aimed to investigate the repurposing neuroprotective capacity of nevirapine by using in-silico, in-vitro and in-vivo methods. Insilico molecular docking studies were carried out with auto dock 4.2, to evaluate the binding characterization of nevirapine against 4JWX (GluN1, GluN2B with NMDA receptor), 3QEL (Glutamate GLUN2A with NMDA receptor) and 5GIT(BTB domain of KEAP1 in complex with XX3). In-vitro antioxidant activity was evaluated by DPPH and nitric oxide scavenging methods. The in-vivo neuroprotective effect of nanoparticles containing nevirapine was carried out through middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO)inducted cerebral ischemia rats
