Abstract
Both type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and osteoporosis affect a large proportion of older people around the world and are major public health threats. Though the relationship between T2DM and osteoporosis has been widely investigated, it remains controversial. However, the association between clinical characteristics (especially hypoglycemic drug use) and osteoporosis/osteopenia remains unclear.
