PANDEMIC-RELATED TOURISM RESTRICTIONS AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE ECONOMY OF THE GASTRONOMIC SECTOR OF SALINAS, 2020

Abstract
Ecuador is a country located on the west coast of
South America, characterized by its landscapes
and being one of the countries with more tourist
sites with worldwide recognition; this is given
thanks to the paradisiacal places that every
region belongs to this has. Sunsets characterize
the coast, and an extensive beach and route called
spondylus. In this region, the cuisine mainly
focuses on seafood; the landscape is flat, with dry
forests in the south, rainforests in the north, and
extensive mangroves. The highlands is an Andean
region with some completely incredible places,
from volcanoes to extensive landscapes from
north to south, its cuisine consists of typical
dishes such as roast guinea pig, and the variety of
locros originating in this region, the Amazon is
characterized by rainforests and large rivers and
extensive flora and fauna. In this region, the
area’s ethnicities develop a typical cuisine based
on freshwater fish and wild animals that can be
edible for the human palate. All these regions
have their typical gastronomy consumed by
locals and strangers and offered in the best
possible way to receive more personalities and
individuals over the years. The following are the
main tourist destinations in Ecuador.
