Perception of Tourists towards Regional Cuisine: A study on Himachal Pradesh
Aman Sharma, Dr. Sanjeeb Pal, Dr. Dilbag Singh
Abstract
Food is one of the basic necessities for the survival of human beings. Travelers can find a wide variety of
regional foods in Himachal Pradesh in various regions, cities, and villages. Villages outside of the city's
largest districts can still feel the authentic flavors of the local dishes. Local chefs prepare a wide range of
dishes on a modest scale, most of them in houses rather than in markets. Non-vegetarian cuisine is more
popular in northern India than in other states. Typically, red meat and wheat bread have been staples of
Himachali cuisine. A lot of meals start using thick, rich sauce that is seasoned with aromatic compounds.
A touristic location's environment is a synthesis of a variety of elements, including faith, creativity, morals,
dialect, music, dance, and cuisine, among others. Collectively, culture depicts the way people live in a
certain location and various facets of their daily lives. Local foods continue to be a crucial cultural element
that every traveler wishes to enjoy while on a trip to any location. This research article based on primary
and secondary data through various articles, research paper, online journals etc.
