Abstract
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent endocrine disorder that affects a significant number of reproductive-age women worldwide It is characterized by a complex interplay of hormonal imbalances, metabolic disturbances, and reproductive abnormalitiesWeight and lifestyle (diet, physical activity and behavioral) management are first-line therapy in international evidence-based guidelines for PCOS. Lifestyle interventions offer a comprehensive approach to improve health outcomes and enhance the overall quality of life for women with PCOS. After discussing the pathophysiology, this paper explores the importance of lifestyle management including dietary modifications, physical activity, weight management, stress reduction and sleeping habits in the context of PCOS, highlighting its potential to improve key clinical manifestations and enhance overall health and well-being. Understanding the underlying mechanisms helps establish the rationale for lifestyle interventions, as they target multiple aspects of the disorder, such as insulin resistance, obesity, and inflammation.
