Prevalence Of Malnutrition Among The Under-Five Children And Knowledge Of Mothers Regarding Malnutrition
Roma Patel, Sara Chaudhari
Abstract
Proper diet is a critical component of maintaining good health. The health of a nation is contingent
upon its citizens being healthy. Malnutrition is a term that covers both malnutrition and obesity. However, it
primarily relates to malnutrition caused by inefficient feeding methods, decreased nutrient utilization caused
by illnesses and parasites, insufficient food and health security, bad environmental conditions, and a lack
of good child care practices. Mother is theprimary caregiver for thechild; she must know about caring forchildren
under the age of five and the nutrition they require. Thus, the current study attempted to examine the magnitude
of malnutrition in children under five and mothers' nutritional awareness.
