Prevalence of Asymptomatic Bacteriuria and itsantibiotic sensitivity pattern among Pregnant Women.

Abstract
Urinary Tract Infections is commonly seen in pregnancy. UTI may present in pregnancy either as asymptomatic bacteriuria or as symptomatic bacteriuria. Our study was aimed to find out the prevalence of pregnant women with asymptomatic bacteriuria and antibiotic sensitivity pattern of isolated uropathogens. Material and methods: A total of 200 pregnant women without any symptomatic UTI were included in this study. Clean catch midstream urine sample was collected from each patient into sterile universal container. The urine samples were examined microscopically and by inoculated on Blood agar and Mac conkeys agar media aerobically. Identification of organisms and antibiotic sensitivity tests were performed as per standard methods
