RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCEOF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract
The main objective of the present study was to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic performance among secondary school students. The secondary objective was to examine the relationship between academic performance and emotional intelligence of secondary school students. Pearson correlation and regression analysiswere applied to test the hypotheses. The findings are in line with the hypotheses. Significant relationship found between academic performance and emotional intelligence of secondary school students.Higher emotional intelligence will be academic performance. The emotional intelligence factor will emerge as a predictor of the academic performance of secondary school students.
