Abstract
Differentiating typical Parkinson Disease from atypical parkinsonian illnesses (APDs),
predominantly in the primary phases, is one of the common diagnostic and clinical difficulties in the early
& effective management of these disorders which is crucial for long-term prognosis, and quality of life of
the patient. They can be distinguished using clinical measures and conventional magnetic resonance
sequences. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), susceptibility weighted
images are some advanced MRI techniques that possibly could be helpful in the identification of various
spectrum of Parkinsonian disorders, according to the recent studies & reports.
