Abstract
This project focuses on developing and evaluating energy management strategies for photovoltaic (PV) electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to enhance efficiency and sustainability. As the adoption of electric vehicles increases, the need for effective charging infrastructure powered by renewable energy sources becomes critical. This study proposes a comprehensive energy management framework that optimizes the integration of solar power generation, energy storage, and EV charging demands. By leveraging advanced algorithms, the framework dynamically adjusts charging schedules and storage utilization based on real-time data, including solar irradiance, electricity prices, and user demand. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed strategies significantly reduce energy costs, minimize reliance on grid electricity, and maximize the utilization of solar energy. This research contributes to the ongoing development of smart EV charging solutions that promote the use of renewable energy and support the transition toward sustainable transportation systems.
