STRESS ANALYSIS IN DRILL STRING AND SELECTION DURING OIL WELL DRILLING WITH THE HELP OF DEVELOPED SOFTWARE
Mohammed Ismail Iqbal, Dr. Ibrahim Alrajawy, Dr. Osama Issac
Abstract
Now a days deep hydrocarbon reservoirs are exploited through onshore and offshore platforms, which was difficult a few decades ago. This development is due to the technological developments in creating a drill string, which can withstand greater weights and can drill kilometers long. The drill string in well
directions, which needs to withstand against shear pressure (wind off), ductile pressure (separating), breakdown and the preload applied from joint make-up force legitimately influences the static pressure dispersion inside the connection
Keywords
Drilling string connections, fatigue failure, stress concentration factor, down hole failure.
