Mrityunjay Kumar Mishra, Dr.Bibhuti Shekhar Lal Das
Abstract
This study focuses on the synthesis and characterization of copper chromite (CuCrO2) and copper bismuthspinel oxides (CuBi2O4) as promising materials with potential applications in catalysis and electronic devices. The synthesis was achieved through a facile and reproducible method, involving the controlled co-precipitation of metal salts followed by heat treatment. The obtained materials were systematically characterized using various techniques to elucidate their structural, morphological, and compositional proper- ties. X- ray diffraction (XRD) analysis con-firmed the formation of single-phase copperchromite and copper bismuthspineloxides with well-defined crystalline structures. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images revealed themorphology and particle size distribution, show casing uniform and well-dispersed particles. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) further confirmed the elemental composition of the synthesized oxides. The catalytic activity of copper chromite was evaluated in oxidative dehydrogenation re-actions, demonstrating its potential for use in industrial catalysis. Meanwhile, copper bismuth spinel oxides exhibited interesting electronic properties, as determined by electrical conductivity measurements. The comprehensive characterization provided insights into the structural and morphological features influencing the properties of these materials, thus contributing to their potential applications in diverse fields. This study enhances our understanding of the synthesis and properties of copper chromite and copper bismuth spineloxides, paving the way for further exploration and utilization of these materials in catalysis, electronics, and related applications.
