Simulated Annealing Approach to Improve the Effectiveness of Web Information Retrieval Process

Abstract
The emergence of the internet has revolutionized the process of information retrieval. However,
web-based information retrieval systems are faced with several challenges that were not present in
traditional setups. To address these challenges and provide efficient and effective retrieval of web
documents, a modified particle swarm optimization approach has been proposed. The proposed
method incorporates the Simulated Annealing technique, a probabilistic approach that predicts
global optimization in large search spaces, in conjunction with PSO
