Abstract
In this paper, primarily concentrate on the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) that is fed by a single stage of a modular multilevel converter. When used to water pumping systems, this PMSM excels (MMC). In order to cut down on inefficient switching losses, the suggested system uses a Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC). Each of the MMC's four limbs consists of eight separate modules. Using a multi-level converter (MMC) with fewer switches, the proposed system is built around a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive and a photovoltaic (PV) energy source. Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) need a fieldoriented control drive. The PMSM drive's speed is compared to a known value through the maximum power point monitoring method known as "perturb and observe" (P&O). Using MATLAB simulation, we investigate the practicability of the suggested PV fed PMSM driven water pumping system. Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine, Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) (PMSM)
