Abstract
A frequent occurence of diffuse non-scarring hair loss is telogen effluvium (TE). If diagnosed correctly, it may greatly alleviate the patient's anxiety in its acute form. Hair loss might go undetected for lengthy periods in its more severe form. Here, the dermatologist's involvement in distinguishing it from patterned hair loss is critical.
