Supporting children in the light of transitional justice by emphasizing international instruments (case study: Afghan children)
Zahra Mandi, Sahar Hosseini
Abstract
Transitional justice denotes the execution of justice in a transitioning society; in fact, transitioning societies refer to societies where human and humanitarian right violations have occurred and that transitional justice has sought to respond to and compensate for the damages suffered by victims. Since developing societies such as Afghanistan are basically witnessing human right violations, especially children right violations, we thus need justice to be executed using transitional justice mechanisms. These measures include criminal proceedings by fact-finding commissions, remedy programs and types of functional institutional reforms by entities whose structural deficiencies have given rise to human right violations.
