Abstract
Background: End-stage, symptomatic hip OA is the most typical indication for THA. Inflammatory arthritic conditions, hip ON, congenital hip disorders like hip dysplasia, and THA are also frequently performed for these reasons. Hip ON typically manifests in patients who are younger (35 to 50 years old), and it makes up about 10% of annual THAs. Prior to considering performing a THA on any patient, a comprehensive history and physical examination are necessary. Patients should be questioned regarding previous procedures and therapies. Prior joint replacements, arthroscopic procedures, or other surgeries performed near the hip should be taken into consideration as they may have a significant impact on the planned procedure and/or prosthesis chosen. Prior to considering THA, all patients should undergo a thorough medical evaluation, receive medical clearance, and undergo risk stratification. excellent hip joint exposure for replacement surgery. By doing this, trochanteric osteotomy is not necessary. Early patient mobilization following surgery is made possible by the intact bulk of the gluteus medius muscle. The trochanteric osteotomy-assisted anterolateral approach provides a wider exposure, but this approach does not. As a result, using this method to perform revision surgery is challenging.
