The Chosen Factors Influencing People Looking After Seniors With Dementia In Their Home Environment

Abstract
Family caregivers are crucial in the care system for quite some time. However, their role and participation are
doubted and underestimated. Also, society overlooks their role in the support system for seniors with dementia. A
family caregiver must secure not only the exhausting 24/7 care after a family member, but they have to sort out
many other matters. With regards to society’s ageing, Alzheimer's disease become a fear for more families who
would consider looking after their family members in the home environment. This paper aims to highlight the
importance of family carers and to reflect on questions and topics which have risen from the research conducted
with 54 respondents
