The Problem of Geographical Borders in the Middle Maghreb during the Middle Ages: An Analysis of Variations and their Reflective Nature
Bachir Bougaada
Abstract
This research paper examines and analyses the geographical delineation of the Middle Maghreb during the Middle Ages. It primarily investigates the issue of inconsistent geographical borders between successive political entities in the Central Maghreb. These borders fluctuate, expanding and contracting over different periods, while the study seeks to understand the underlying causes for these shifts. Notably, it delves into the influence of geographical, political, and tribal factors that contribute to these variations. Furthermore, the research assesses the foundational elements that dictate the borders of the Central Maghreb region and its geographical extent.Additionally, the paper explores the ramifications of these discrepancies, particularly in the political and social domains.
