Abstract
The current study was conducted in the animal house , of Depatrment of Biology /Faculty of science /University of Kufa , and included the use of 20 white female rats is 12 weeks old and 20 fertile male albino rats is 11 weeks old ,there weights are (185- 230)grams . the female were placed with the male for the purpose of mating , and after obtaining the required number of pregnant females , they were distributed among the females four main groups , each group included (5) pregnant females , the first group included the control which was gave normal food and water and the second group was injected intramuscular with diclofenac sodium at a 3.6 mg/kg/day ,and the third group orally dosed with vitamin C at a dose (85mg/kg) , and the four group were injected with diclofenac sodium intramuscular and then orally dosed with vitamin C at dosed (85mg/kg) of body weight , all these groups gave doses for ( 20 day ) from the first day of pregnant. The results was showed a significant increase (p> 0.05) in the weights of body of the fetuses during pregnancy periods 20 days in group treated with vitamin C and treated with vitamin C + Diclofenac sodium respectively compared with control group and group treated with Diclofenac sodium , while results was showed a significant decrease (p> 0.05) in the weights of body in the fetuses during pregnancy periods 20 days in group treated with Diclofenac sodium compared with control group . The results of the study showed a significant increase (p> 0.05) in weights of kidney (right and left) in the group treated with vitamin C at a concentration (85 mg/kg) and with vitamin C at a concentration (85 mg/kg) + diclofenac sodium through pregnancy period (20 day) compared with control group and group treated with diclofenac sodium , while the treatment of female rats with diclofenac caused a significant decrease (p> 0.05) in left kidney treatment compared with group treatment
