Theology and humanity in ancient Iraqi pottery

Abstract
The purpose of this paper isto identifyingthe theology and humanity in the ancient Iraqi pottery.The current research dealt with theology and humanity in ancient Iraqi art, a study that focused on establishing a framework of knowledge that involves reading the relationship between the concept of divinity and humanity on the one hand, and ancient Iraqi art on the other. The first chapter was concerned with the methodological framework of the research, which was represented by the research problem that dealt with shedding light on the nature of theology and humanity in the art of ancient Iraqi pottery.As for the limits of the research, pottery works that involve theology and humanity in scenes of (pottery) art determined the current study. In addition, the research procedures that included the research community and its sample, the research method, and the analysis of the research samples, which numbered (3) pottery works, the most prominent of which were the research results.The reason for the emergence of ancient Iraqi pottery works is the human need and desire for protection and security that these works provide as a personal amulet with a religious and magical character together that shows the beliefs of its owner and protects him from all harm and evil, the ancient Iraqi artist depicted the gods in a realistic, human way, in order to approximate the image of the god in the ancient Iraqi thought as the image closest to the imagination, and some of them are in a composite form (with animal additions), because some animals have abilities that humans do not possess, and when adding them to the image form Humanity gives it more privileges and the symbols of the goddess that were worshiped in ancient Iraq are also used, the goddess was depicted in a large size in order to distinguish it from the human image, and it occupied large areas in the tablet, indicating its importance as a deity worshiped in those time periods, and the image of God in the ancient Iraqi pottery confirmed prestige, aspiration, centrality and dominance, because the divine personality enjoyed acceptance among people at the time and considered them to be great powers controlling human capabilities
