Tourist awareness towards Eco-Tourism

Abstract
Tourism is the fastest growing industry in India as well as in Karnataka and it generates
revenue for the country as well as employable opportunity. Eco-tourism is the new initiative
taken by the government to develop and sustain the environment for the betterment of the
future. Ecotourism pertains to a conscious and responsible effort to preserve the diversity of
a naturally endowed region and sustain its beauty and local culture. To promote ecotourism in the right sense awareness and knowledge are much needed. The researcher
concentrates on tourists’ awareness towards eco-tourism in Karnataka. The data collected
data from both primary and secondary source. The total sample size is 500 respondents
from the selected tourism places in Karnataka. A simple random sampling technique is used
to collect the data and the ANOVA test is used to assess the data and find the results.
