Utilizing Geospatial Technology in Human Studies - Historical Research as a Model-
BOUDJEMAA AKRAM, BENZEROUAL DJEMAA
Abstract
Humanities in the Arab world have recently gained attention from Arab academic researchers who are exploring the integration of experimental and technological sciences into their studies. This incorporation of scientific methodologies has been observed in various disciplines, including social, philosophical, and media studies. Among the humanities, historical research in the Arab world, especially in the contemporary period, has witnessed significant development. In this study, we will focus on historical research as a model for examining the utilization of technical sciences. We will draw upon two experiences: the Western French experience, which examines academic historical research in France and its application in technical sciences within historical studies at French universities, and the Algerian Arab experience, which focuses on the use of technical geography in historical research conducted at Algerian universities.
