CS RUCHITRA KAPARWAN
Abstract
Exports, expansion, and new jobs are all on the horizon for India's leather sector. More than 2.5 million
individuals are employed in some way by the sector. Workers with low to moderate levels of education
make up around half of the labor force, while the other half does not, and women make up a third of
the labor force. Business-friendly policies and strategic activities are required for the developing Indian
